Christmas Comes Early for OMG as Julie Beun Joins Team
Ottawa, ON – To provide more depth and experience in the writing and storytelling spaces, Ottawa Media Group (OMG) is pleased to announce the addition of journalist and writer Julie Beun to the team.
With OMG’s highly successful first year of operations under way, Julie joins as a senior writer with 27 years of experience in magazines and newspapers, as well as writing press releases, marketing materials and website content.
“Having Julie’s expertise and connections as a journalist, publicist and writer will be invaluable to OMG clients, whether they need their story told in the press or in a press release,” says OMG managing partner, Kimothy Walker.
Julie started her career in Australia in 1988, working for Fairfax Newspapers, ACP and later as news editor for People (Time Inc.) and health editor for Family Circle (Murdoch Magazines).
Since 2000, she’s written for PostMedia, t.c. media (now Quebecor) and Readers’ Digest, amongst others. She’s also written two books, is deeply involved in charity work and is a regular co-host on Rogers Daytime in Ottawa.
“When I was asked to join OMG, I said ‘yes’ before Kimothy even finished her sentence,” says Julie. “OMG has an all-star lineup and I’m thrilled to be part of their work.”
Julie has been fortunate enough to interview a huge range of people from prime ministers and celebrities to humanitarians and even the Crown Princess of Tonga.
“Julie is part of the fabric of Ottawa’s style and fashion scene, as well,” says OMG’s other managing partner Eric Collard. “And she has a sense of humour, which fits perfectly with OMG’s philosophy: We mean business…but we have fun doing it.”
