New partnership between Ottawa Business Journal, Kimothy Walker and Joan Weinman will result in the Ottawa 2017 book, “OH, Canada! A Celebration of 150 Years”
OTTAWA, ON – Ottawa Business Journal (Great River Media), Ottawa Media Group’s Kimothy Walker and Melbourne Group’s Joan Weinman have announced production of the book that will shine a spotlight on the incredible Capital in which we live, as we celebrate 150 years.
The lead sponsorship at both the national and community levels have already been snapped up by Commissionaires and Calian Group, while the first partner level sponsorship was signed by “Ottawa 2017” before the announcement at OBJ’s Best of Business awards last week. The book now has only 14 spots remaining for profiled companies. The most recent sponsor is Carleton University. Five fourth-year journalism students from Carleton will also be part of the book’s research team.
Weinman says, “Our book will be the take-away piece that tells the story of our nation’s sesquicentennial with a sharp focus on the Capital, its people, places and achievements.”
Guy Laflamme, Executive Director of Ottawa 2017 says, “We encourage you to support this worthy project that promises to capture the heart and soul of our nation’s capital and our 150th.”
“After telling Ottawa’s stories for 25 years with CTV News, I am proud to be involved in this historic document that will celebrate, among other things, business, innovation, tourism and our military history,” says Walker.
The coffee table book will be written by award-winning journalists Walker and Weinman, with photos by renowned photographer Michelle Valberg. Oh, Canada! will be released in the Spring of 2017, in time for our 150th Canada Day.
