Ottawa Record Label Owner Releases Mental Health Video in Support of
Ottawa Aboriginal Coalition at Major Fundraiser —
with Surprise Guest Jonathan Pitre

OTTAWA, ON – Tara Shannon, a professional singer songwriter and the Amazing People Creative Director, dedicated her December 2nd “Amazing People Holiday Concert” to helping children in Canada, Nicaragua and Kenya. She was raising money for SchoolBOX, Hera Mission, Project North and Debra Canada after a surprise appearance by Jonathan Pitre (through Facetime) in front of hundreds of guests.

But that wasn’t the only surprise: Tara released an extremely emotional and inspirational video about mental health, with all proceeds going to help young people. The video includes a number of raw expressions of suffering and survival by young people.

The December 2nd concert was a preview of her new album recorded in Nashville and Ottawa with producer Hayley McLean, who is part Metis. Here is a link to see the video created in Ottawa.

Tara’s single, Butterfly Child, raised money to help Jonathan Pitre and her upcoming album (early 2017) will see the dedicated philanthropist donating even more money.

After declining a record label deal 20 years ago to care for her young family, she is now, (7 children later) about to release “Unfinished”, the album that has been waiting for her.

The kick off, Tara’s “Amazing People Holiday Concert”, featured local entertainers, including some from her own record label Willow Sound Records. Tara is the first Ottawa woman to own a record label www.wsrecords.ca and has partnered with Nashville label M-Pact Music Group www.m-pactmusicgroup.com to create an export lane for writers and artists in the Ottawa Valley.

About Amazing People: Amazing People is a fundraising movement dedicated to celebrating Ottawa’s amazing people while raising money to support our charities. AP also provides scholarships to young people looking to learn about leadership in the world.
